The rap trio were performing at the Albany Basketball & Sport Corporation’s complex in Albany on March 7, 2015.

The owner of the Washington Avenue Armory has filed a lawsuit in state court against Migos, alleging the Atlanta-based hip-hop group “caused a riot” at a concert held at the venue the night of March 6, 2015.

“The actions of the defendants caused patrons to be stabbed, robbed, beaten, severely harmed, and injured as the defendants continued to incite a select group of individuals to continue the onslaught of attacks, assaults, and destruction of the premises,” the lawsuit says. “Despite the severity of the incident the defendants were seen laughing and egging the crowd on as metal gates were ripped from the ground and thrown into the crowd.” Read more…

ALBANY – The operators of the Washington Avenue Armory are suing the Atlanta-based rap trio Migos, charging the group incited a 2015 riot at which six people were stabbed.

Meanwhile, a concertgoer is suing the band and the facility for what he said were severe facial injuries suffered in the melee.

The legal action comes nearly three years after the March 7, 2015, show at the venue at 195 Washington Ave. New York has a three-year statute of limitations for plaintiffs to file personal injury and property damage lawsuits.

In court documents, operators of the Armory charge that Migos showed up hours late, reeked of marijuana and booze and blew off a meet-and-greet with fans who paid a surcharge to meet the trio. Read more…

A Nassau County mother alleges a one-night stay at New York’s Waldorf Astoria hotel resulted in her 6-year-old daughter being bitten by bedbugs and the critters returning home with them.

Susanne Igneri filed a complaint last week in Nassau County Supreme Court against the luxury hotel, which is owned and operated by Hilton Worldwide. She says since the family’s Feb. 20 stay at the Waldorf, she has incurred more than $13,000 in expenses and damages.

In a statement, Waldorf Astoria officials said they were unaware of the lawsuit and “cannot speak to its merits.” The hotel statement added, “The management of the Waldorf Astoria takes the issue of bedbugs very seriously as the safety and comfort of our guests are our top priorities.”

In a letter dated Oct. 20, a week after the lawsuit was filed, the Abalon Exterminating Co., contracted by the Waldorf, wrote that a technician “performed a complete detailed inspection” of the Igneris’ room days after their departure. Read more…

The call, “cleanup needed in aisle three,” will likely never sound the same to a Long Island woman who claims she was injured after a display of spaghetti sauce toppled onto to her at a Queens supermarket.

Patricia Samaroo, 55, was reaching for a jar of the sauce when the display toppled, dowsing her in tomatoey gooeyness and leaving her with permanent injuries, she claims in a lawsuit filed in Queens Supreme Court.

Samaroo told the Daily News of New York that she was in shock when the display collapsed at the Pathmark store in Ozone Park. “It happened so fast,” she said. Read more…


Woman Sues Store After Being Buried By Sauce

A Long Island woman is suing a supermarket for a negligently assembled display which left her injured and covered in spaghetti sauce.

Patricia Samaroo claims in a lawsuit filed in a Queens Supreme Court that a display of meatballs and spaghetti sauce at an Oxone Park Pathmark in Queens, New York, was improperly stacked and shaky, the New York Daily News Reports. The woman alleged that reaching for a jar in the display resulted in a large spill of spaghetti sauce and permanent injuries.

After the incident, Samaroo claims she was hospitalized with permanent head and spin injuries. She claimed that the pain in her neck persists and requires a regimen of painkillers for her to pursue a normal and comfortable life. Court papers also reveal that the pasta-lover endured bulging disks and nerve damage left her “sick, lame, sore and disabled.” Read more…


Spaghetti Sauce Incident Leads to Lawsuit at Queens Supermarket

A Long Island woman says meatballs at a Queens supermarket improperly stacked a shaky sales display that left her buried under an avalanche of spaghetti sauce.

Patricia Samaroo, 55, claims in a Queens Supreme Court suit that she was left with permanent injuries in the grocery spill.

“It was on sale,” Samaroo said of the jar she reached for at an Ozone Park Pathmark on Jan. 19. “And then it collapsed. I was in shock when it happened.”

“All I know is that I was covered in spaghetti sauce,” Samaroo told the Daily News Tuesday night.

Dozens of jars of sauce rained down on her head, leaving her hospitalized with permanent head and spine injuries, she charged.

“It shouldn’t be that high,” Samaroo said of the display. “They should know what they’re doing with a display like that.” Read more…
